Term 3: Welcome post
Welcome Post
Welcome back to my blogs, after a two weeks break it is time to start working again on new projects, and better ones. I admit and I am aware that the second term was not the best for me, I bogged down and could have done so much better work, to be more specific I need to work on managing my time in a better way because I see that as one of the main factors of the bad experience I had in the previous term, I piled on the tasks I had to complete and did not realise I was late until the last weeks, and I was not able to do deep researches, which taught me to be more active on my blogs and research on this term.
I also need to work on developing my ideas and sketches and posting the process and progress here on my blogs however now I have learn from my previous mistakes and find ways to improve and develop my ideas and work instead of regretting, as we are in the beginning of the end such as trying to finish each blog the day or at least the week that it is supposed to be completed and posted, so that I will not have to go back to old blogs instead of focusing on the important ones, in other words give each blog and task its own time.
Another thing that I would like to mention is the 3D outcome, I started working on it a week before the deadline while I was still working on the blogs and website, I made my 3D model in the wood workshop and to be fair it was a good experience, the technician was so helpful in terms of suggesting ideas or cutting boards for us if not feeling comfortable or confident enough to use the machines. It is safe to say that I have acquired knowledge on materials and machines in the workshops, and gained more confidence using them, which helped grow my interest in making models, one of the models that I would like to recreate is this clinical global impression scale model, located in New Jersey by Chen and Suchart, a modern architecture firm in Arizona.
researching sustainable materials for constructions helped me discover travertine for example, sustainable glass, rammed earth and how is it made.
Despite the failure I am happy with what I have done in such a short period, and I am taking it as a motivation for this last term.
Good detailed introduction, to add to this you could show the type of 3D work you would like to create that other architects artists have made with a little research
