Floor Plan
Creating a comprehensive and clear floor plan is an important step in the design process of any building, especially for a functional space like a supermarket. My floor plan serves as a detailed map, outlining the layout of the interior space, including the arrangement of different areas, supplies, shelves, and circulation paths( Ching, F. D. K. 2014). By carefully planning the floor layout, one can ensure optimal flow of customers, efficient use of space, and an overall pleasant shopping experience (Wang, Q., & Zhou, Q. 2018). My planning will balance the store's look, functionality, and practicality, which helps make the supermarket design successful.
I made the floor plan to show the layout of the interior space of the supermarket, using a website called Rayon.design, it is fair to say that I have done a good job at using the website. The following image will show the results.
the door in the right is the main entrance leading to either the offices and bathrooms, or the shopping area at the end of the building we find the restocking warehouse with two doors one leading to the shopping area and the other one leading to the exterior.
My supermarket includes the arrangement of the areas, supplies, shelves, and the circulation paths. In creating the floor plan, I experimented with various layouts to achieve an optimal design. Initially, I envisioned something unique and environmentally conscious, such as incorporating a plant nursery at the entrance with bridges and see-through walls to highlight the use of eco-friendly materials. This concept, as shown in the first image below, was meant to create a visually appealing and sustainable shopping environment.
the distance between aisles in my supermarket is 2 meters wide and 3 meters long.
The restaurant sits on a 27 meter square space
