Project research: Studiotalca
The second research I am doing for my project is about a renovated coffee shop and coworking spaces in Talca, Chile named after the architects studio that renovated it Studiotalca. The building is a rebirth of the Chile architectural heritage, this building used to be a warehouse for furniture in the 19th century after being abandoned due to an earthquake in 2010
The coworking space is provided with a parking, service bathrooms, a semi open terrace with a cafeteria and flexible coworking spaces, it provides the workers with anything they might need or think of while working, it creates a safe, comfortable place where they can enjoy their time working which is one of the objectives of my studios. Studiotalca is also an encouragement to the creative and the cultural activity in Talca aiming to preserving heritage while helping to develop the area, that encouraged me to choose Algiers as the location for my project to help develop my country.
The open space design gives the studio a flexibility to rearrange and adapt the workspace based on what the workers need and also what does the work require. communal areas also encourage employees to approach each other, communicate, share ideas and knowledge promoting a sense of unity and teamwork leading to a stronger team.
This is my primary floorplan, inspired by the Studiotalca plan
