 I am a DMUIC student ,and I am using this blog to share my interest and work in the subject I am studying which is architecture  

  I would like to start by sharing one of the most inspiring projects of all time in my opinion 

                The Aqua Tower in Chicago, designed by Jeanne Gang : r/architecture (reddit.com)

      

          The aqua tower is a hotel in Chicago . and the reason why i chose to write about it is the creative side of it besides to that , It has that waves looking shape and I am obsessed with everything about the sea In 2004 architect and developer James Loewenberg invited Gang to design Aqua Tower. The building’s curved concrete balcony overhangs, arguably its most notable feature, were designed to serve a dual purpose: they lend Aqua strong visual interest through their evocation of rippling water, and they diffuse strong winds, allowing balconies to be placed on every floor and all four sides of the building—a feat of skyscraper engineering. At the time of its completion, Aqua also had one of Chicago’s largest green roofs. Though that building quickly became Gang and her firm’s best-known project, the firm’s other projects were many and varied. (.britannica.com 2023)

                  

   

        Now I would like to talk about the creator of the project that I mentioned above

         Jeanne Gang is an american architect and the founder of one of the leading architecture companies " Studio Gang " with offices in many different states in America . she was nominated for numerous awards Gang was selected from a pool of nominees from 16 countries across 4 continents, all of whom were required to demonstrate a minimum of ten years of “proven, exceptional practice.”

“Gang is adept at outstanding design for all scales--from the neighborhood and urban scale to the detail of buildings and interior elements,” commented jury member John Czarnecki, Editor-in-Chief of Contract Magazine. “Her practice combines design thinking about the impact of architecture and urban design on cities as well as the creation of beautiful buildings rooted in context that will stand the test of time”.( Lynch,P 2017)
